#4 Olympus IS2 DLX

Olympus IS2 DLX(3)

Olympus IS2 DLX aka IS2000 and L-2000
This one was originally bought by my friend Mário Azevedo, in a trip to NY.

This model was brand new when he bought it in 1992 and it was a wonder a SLR with a zoom from a modest wide-angle to a nice portrait tele-photo, built-in flash, programs and manual customization to every taste.

I have to confess that I was a little jealous when I saw it for the first time.

At the time I had a Nikon F-301, with lenses, speedlight...

With the children it was difficult to carry around all that gear, exchange lenses...
So I was talking with Mário and he was telling me that he wanted to get a Nikon, I suggested a trade and he accepted. I gave him my bag and he gave me his, with this inside:

Olympus IS2 DLX (1)

Olympus IS2 DLX (2)

Olympus IS2 DLX (5)

I don't recall missing a shot, due to exposure error, with this camera.
If it wasn't for the advent of digital cameras, I think this one would still be "my camera"
