#16 Zeiss Ikon Nettar (518/16)

Zeiss Ikon Nettar (1)

This very modest camera, in specs, was a sales success in it's days.
After all it's a Zeiss Ikon, contemporary of Agfas, Dacoras and many others of the same kind.

It's a viewfinder, folding bellows camera, self-erecting, producing twelve 6x6 cm exposures on 120 film.

The exposure and distance are guesstimated, once that there is neither range-finder nor light meter.

This is the humblest of the family, with it's Novar 1:6,3 f=75 mm in a three speed Vario shutter, 1/25, 1/75, 1/200 of the second and B.

The Nettar name is recurrent at Zeiss Ikon, this one bares the 518/16 catalogue number and it was manufactured at Stuttgart, in the early fifties. It is also Known as Nettar II or Signal Nettar.

It was the first 120 folding camera of my collection.

I love it dressed with the leather case.

The results are quite impressive, if we choose a bright day to use it.
